In August 2020, Justin Winkle and his wife Emily founded Pearl Outdoors amidst the pandemic. Justin, a Texas native, had a free spirit and an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age. In his 20s, he joined the US Military, looking for direction in life, and spent several years traveling the world aboard the USS George Washington, a nuclear class naval aircraft carrier. During this time, he came up with various business ideas and was always thinking of ways to make money.
After leaving the military, Justin found himself working as a Right of Way Agent in the Oil and Gas industry. However, he felt that there was more to life than just his job. During this time, he became friends with a couple from Tennessee, Cesar and Pial, who would become great influences in his life. They had started a small, ethical travel bag and leather company called Quavaro, which inspired Justin to start his own company.
Initially, Justin would give Cesar a hard time about making him custom leather items such as a leather bow case or a leather gun case. However, Cesar challenged Justin to put his money where his mouth was and start his own company selling the items he wanted to be made. This challenge ignited a fire in Justin, and with the blessing and support of his wife, he began working on his vision for Pearl Outdoors.
With guidance from Cesar and his team at Quavaro Artisans, Justin created a line of luxury gun cases and off-body carry bags that could be used for daily carry and passed down for generations. He wanted to create products that were both functional and stylish, something that would look just as good with a pair of jeans as it did with a suit and tie.
As Pearl Outdoors grows, Justin hopes to expand the company's product line and offer more exciting items to the market. He invites everyone to become a part of the Pearl Outdoors family and share in the passion for creating high-quality, long-lasting products. We at Pearl Outdoors look forward to serving you.
